# call.received

An inbound phone or WhatsApp call reached your number, or an outbound WhatsApp call was placed.

### When it fires

Fires at ring time, before anyone answers; an unanswered call still emits it, then `call.ended` with `endReason: "no_answer"`. Outbound WhatsApp calls fire at origination with `direction: "outbound"`. Outbound phone calls never emit it.

### Payload notes

Carries the Zernio call id, the caller and business numbers, the destination snapshot (`forwardTo`), and `contactId` and `conversationId` to message the caller with the regular send endpoints.

**Payload for `call.received`:**

- **test** `boolean`: Always true when present: only a sample sent by POST /v1/webhooks/test with an event carries it. Real deliveries never do.
- **id** (required) `string`: Stable webhook event ID: the dedupe key, also sent as the X-Zernio-Event-Id header and identical on every retry and redelivery. It identifies the event only, never an account or other resource.
- **profiles**: `WebhookProfiles` - See schema definition
- **event** (required) `string`: No description - one of: call.received
- **call** (required) `object`:
  - **id** `string`: Internal Zernio Call doc id
  - **metaCallId** `string, null`: Meta wacid.* call id when known
  - **accountId** `string`: No description
  - **phoneNumberId** `string`: Meta phone_number_id
  - **direction** `string`: No description - one of: inbound, outbound
  - **from** `string`: Consumer wa_id / E.164
  - **to** `string`: Business number (E.164)
  - **forwardTo** `string`: Destination snapshot at routing time
  - **contactId** `string`: No description
  - **conversationId** `string`: No description
  - **startedAt** `string` (date-time): No description
- **account** (required): `InboxWebhookAccount` - See schema definition
- **timestamp** (required) `string` (date-time): UTC time at which Zernio generated this event (set once when the event payload is built, before delivery is queued). Retries and redeliveries keep the original value, so it reflects the event, not the delivery attempt.
