Fields Pinterest rejects
Pinterest's geo spec takes region codes or postal codes but never both. Sending regions and zips together returns a 400 with code mutually_exclusive_fields.
incomeTier, cities, customLocations and behaviors are not supported on Pinterest.
Targeting edits after creation are not supported: PUT /v1/ads/{adId} with targeting returns 501. Recreate the ad to change who it reaches.
If it fails
| Error | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
400 with code mutually_exclusive_fields | regions and zips sent together | Send one of them. |
400 on languages | A language code Pinterest cannot target | Drop that code. |
incomeTier rejected | Pinterest has no income targeting | Remove the field. |
501 with code feature_not_available | targeting sent to PUT /v1/ads/{adId} | Recreate the ad with the new targeting. |
